Sponsor a team of 5 high school students on their week-long exploration of IT careers and opportunities at local companies like yours.
Rising sophomores and juniors at the IT Careers Camp stay at a local university (UC, NKU, Xavier, and Miami) and embark on an educational program that demonstrates, according to the tagline, that "IT exists in business to solve problems." During the day, students take field trips to the week’s sponsor companies and engage in problem solving scenarios that make the students think about how to apply technology to solve business problems. In the afternoon, students return to the university to work on the TOBE Competition, their weeklong capstone project in which they fully design a business plan for a tech startup. At night, students experience the university and get introduced to hard IT skills by learning programming languages or learn core business concepts like P+Ls and marketing plans.
Throughout the week, students are split into four teams of five students each, with each student having one of the following roles: CEO, CIO, CFO, or CMO. The teams earn points throughout the week and the company field trips and present their TOBE Competition project together.
